The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of Modern Foreign Languages Department to lead a successful team and deliver high-quality A-Level Spanish and French courses. This role offers the opportunity to shape curriculum development and support student success in a thriving academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Modern Foreign Languages Department, including teaching staff and language assistants.
- Deliver and oversee the A-Level Spanish and French curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement departmental strategies to improve student outcomes and engagement.
- Provide professional development and mentorship for teaching staff within the department.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Manage course administration, including timetabling, resources, and assessment processes.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching A-Level Spanish, with a strong understanding of the curriculum.
- Demonstrated leadership experience or the potential to progress into a Head of Department role.
- Ability to manage and develop a team of teaching staff and language assistants.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and student achievement.
Preferred
- Experience teaching A-Level French.
- Previous experience in a senior leadership or management role within education.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technology integration.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
