Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspirational leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and accelerated student progress.
  • Lead on curriculum development and enrichment opportunities to enhance student engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching practices to support continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Set and monitor targets for staff and students, ensuring outstanding outcomes and academic success.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student achievement and progress.
  • Promote collaborative working within the faculty, across departments, and within the trust.
  • Ensure lessons are fully differentiated to support students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Refine and develop schemes of work to reflect the evolving nature of the subject and new specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong subject specialism in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Demonstrable experience in improving student outcomes and achieving high academic results.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Commitment to developing innovative teaching practices and promoting a stimulating learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leading a department.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or other language teaching approaches.
  • Strong record of achieving A and A* grades at A-Level and 7–9 grades at GCSE.
