The Opportunity:
As the Head of Spanish, you will lead a high-performing department and inspire students to achieve exceptional outcomes in Spanish language learning. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum delivery, drive innovation, and support student success at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inspirational leadership and ensure excellence in teaching and learning across the Spanish department.
- Develop and implement robust curriculum plans and enrichment activities to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing targeted interventions to support all learners, including those with SEND.
- Lead and inspire professional development within the department to maintain high standards of teaching practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school and other institutions to share best practices and improve outcomes.
- Maintain open communication with parents, carers, and feeder schools to support student progress and well-being.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with strong subject knowledge in Spanish.
- Demonstrable experience in leading a department and improving student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) and innovative teaching practices.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering A-Level and GCSE Spanish curricula.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation for diverse learners.
- Experience in managing faculty resources and leading school improvement initiatives.
