Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the German department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum.
  • Inspire and motivate students of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Support and mentor other members of the German department.
  • Promote the study of German through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to align departmental goals with school objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and performance.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through pastoral and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, preferably in a senior academic role.
  • Strong subject knowledge in German and a clear vision for curriculum development.
  • Experience in teaching and inspiring students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic or values-based educational environment.
  • Familiarity with co-curricular and extra-curricular programme development.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience in staff development and mentoring.
