Head of Music required at a progressive school. Lead the Music Department with passion and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5 with a focus on high-quality classroom delivery.
  • Lead and develop the Music Department, ensuring it continues to grow and thrive.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the learning experience for students.
  • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that encourages creativity and musical excellence.
  • Support the development of students' talents through extracurricular activities and performances.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and overall wellbeing of students.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff within the department.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning across all levels of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree with an appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Music at Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5.
  • Strong classroom management and delivery skills.
  • Commitment to the pastoral and nurturing ethos of the school.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or managing a team.
  • Ability to offer a second subject.
  • Experience with music performance and extracurricular activities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
