Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young people with autism in a variety of learning and therapeutic activities
  • Assist with creative and hands-on learning experiences, including arts and crafts, cooking, and animal therapy
  • Help deliver personalized lessons tailored to the needs of each student
  • Encourage and support students during outdoor and community-based learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to ensure a consistent and supportive approach
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students in a safe and structured environment
  • Maintain a positive and uplifting atmosphere that promotes student engagement and well-being
  • Contribute to a team-oriented culture that values creativity, compassion, and innovation

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for working with young people with autism
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • A positive, person-centred approach to support and teaching
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of students

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with young people with autism or special needs
  • Experience in educational or therapeutic support settings
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and related support strategies
  • Confidence in delivering creative and interactive learning activities
