The Opportunity:

As Head of Performing Arts, you will lead a dynamic and highly valued department, driving creative and academic excellence in Drama and Music. This role offers the opportunity to shape a vibrant Performing Arts programme that inspires students and contributes to the school’s vibrant culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Performing Arts curriculum across Drama and Music
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that inspire student achievement
  • Coordinate and manage co-curricular activities, productions, and performances
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Performing Arts into the wider school community
  • Promote student participation and engagement in enrichment opportunities
  • Ensure the department maintains high standards of performance and innovation
  • Support the development of students’ skills and confidence through performance and events
  • Manage departmental resources and facilities effectively

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience teaching GCSE Drama, with A Level and/or IB experience
  • Leadership experience within Performing Arts
  • A B.Ed. or degree in a related subject, plus PGCE/PGDE or equivalent
  • A proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning
  • Experience leading or supporting productions and enrichment programmes

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula such as IGCSE or IB
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A passion for inspiring students and colleagues
  • Ability to contribute fully to the wider life of the school
