The Opportunity:

As the Head of Physics, you will lead a forward-thinking faculty and play a key role in delivering outstanding results at both GCSE and A Level. You will inspire students, support staff, and contribute to a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student achievement and engagement
  • Support and mentor Physics teachers to enhance their practice and professional development
  • Work closely with the Head of Faculty to align departmental goals with school objectives
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Represent the department in meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Physics
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting
  • Strong track record of delivering excellent results at GCSE and A Level
  • Commitment to student welfare and professional development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technology
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Leadership experience within a multi-academy trust or similar organization
