The Opportunity:
As the Head of Physics, you will lead a forward-thinking faculty and play a key role in delivering outstanding results at both GCSE and A Level. You will inspire students, support staff, and contribute to a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
- Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student achievement and engagement
- Support and mentor Physics teachers to enhance their practice and professional development
- Work closely with the Head of Faculty to align departmental goals with school objectives
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Represent the department in meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Physics
- Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting
- Strong track record of delivering excellent results at GCSE and A Level
- Commitment to student welfare and professional development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technology
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Leadership experience within a multi-academy trust or similar organization
