Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the PE department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Oversee the strategic direction of the department, including self-evaluation and improvement planning
- Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions to improve outcomes
- Design and deliver a comprehensive curriculum and assessment framework across all key stages
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and engagement within the department
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support student development
- Promote the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles among students
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Demonstrated understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team
- Strong track record in curriculum development
- Experience with extracurricular sports and activities
- Leadership and strategic planning experience
