Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Physics department across all key stages, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement a strategic vision for Physics education, aligned with the school’s mission and curriculum goals.
• Mentor and support colleagues, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
• Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of Physics lessons, ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
• Promote student engagement and achievement, encouraging a passion for Physics and scientific inquiry.
• Contribute to the development of the school’s enriched curriculum, including extracurricular and enrichment activities.
• Act as an ambassador for Physics, promoting the subject across the school and wider community.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience leading a high-performing Physics department or in a senior leadership role within a department.
• Essential experience teaching GCSE Physics.
• A B.Ed. or degree in a related subject, along with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
• A strong track record of outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
• A commitment to student success and the belief that all students can achieve at the highest level.

Preferred

• Experience teaching A Level or IB Physics.
• Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or Career-Related Programme (IBCP).
• Experience contributing to an enriched curriculum, including extracurricular and enrichment initiatives.
