The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology, you will lead the department and inspire students to achieve outstanding results in Psychology at GCSE/iGCSE and A Level. This role is central to shaping the school’s academic vision and nurturing student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Psychology department across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
• Develop and review curriculum and schemes of work in line with the National Curriculum.
• Deliver high-quality teaching that fosters critical thinking and academic excellence.
• Promote the school’s vision, mission, and values through teaching and leadership.
• Ensure a safe, stimulating, and well-ordered learning environment.
• Support students in achieving outstanding GCSE and A Level results.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Head of Curriculum on departmental initiatives.
• Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and promote student welfare.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Native-level English language skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or similar, with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years' experience teaching Psychology in the UK or a reputable British school overseas
• Proven track record of outstanding GCSE and/or A Level examination results
• Demonstrated ability to create a caring and nurturing classroom environment

Preferred

• Experience in leading a department or team
• Familiarity with project-based and experiential learning
• Strong understanding of ecological and sustainability education
