Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the science department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and challenging science curriculum.
- Support and mentor science teachers to enhance their professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate science across the curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure outstanding outcomes.
- Represent the science department at school and external events.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to align departmental goals with school objectives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in science education.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting.
- Strong knowledge of science curriculum and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to promoting equality and inclusion in education.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a science department or similar role.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with STEM initiatives and outreach programs.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar organization.
