The Opportunity:

As Director of Sport, you will lead the PE department and drive the strategic development of a dynamic and successful sports programme. This role is ideal for an inspirational leader who is passionate about sport and committed to delivering outstanding teaching and co-curricular experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a stimulating and challenging PE curriculum, including GCSE and A Level qualifications.
• Lead and manage a wide range of co-curricular sporting activities, fixtures, and training sessions.
• Support student progress and maintain high academic outcomes in PE.
• Ensure the school’s participation in national competitions and maintain success at all levels.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance whole-school initiatives and student development.
• Foster a culture of excellence and inclusivity in sport.
• Oversee the management of sports facilities and resources.
• Provide leadership and guidance to PE staff and students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in teaching PE at all levels, including A Level.
• Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of successful departmental development.
• Experience in delivering co-curricular sport and managing fixtures and tournaments.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to student welfare and academic success.

Preferred

• Experience in leading a sports department within a school or educational institution.
• Knowledge of national sporting competitions and GDST rally programmes.
• Experience in developing and implementing high-quality sports initiatives.
• Passion for inspiring students through sport and physical activity.
