The Opportunity:
As Director of Sport, you will lead the PE department and drive the strategic development of a dynamic and successful sports programme. This role is ideal for an inspirational leader who is passionate about sport and committed to delivering outstanding teaching and co-curricular experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a stimulating and challenging PE curriculum, including GCSE and A Level qualifications.
- Lead and manage a wide range of co-curricular sporting activities, fixtures, and training sessions.
- Support student progress and maintain high academic outcomes in PE.
- Ensure the school’s participation in national competitions and maintain success at all levels.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance whole-school initiatives and student development.
- Foster a culture of excellence and inclusivity in sport.
- Oversee the management of sports facilities and resources.
- Provide leadership and guidance to PE staff and students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching PE at all levels, including A Level.
- Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of successful departmental development.
- Experience in delivering co-curricular sport and managing fixtures and tournaments.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a sports department within a school or educational institution.
- Knowledge of national sporting competitions and GDST rally programmes.
- Experience in developing and implementing high-quality sports initiatives.
- Passion for inspiring students through sport and physical activity.
