The Opportunity:
As a Teacher of Science, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and personal growth of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will have the opportunity to teach a range of Science subjects, including AQA combined and separate sciences, and A-levels in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and inspiring educator to contribute to a school with a strong academic reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5, including general science, combined and separate science, and A-level subjects.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage students of all abilities and promote a love of learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and curriculum content.
- Support students in achieving their academic potential through individualised guidance and pastoral care.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and contribute to the appraisal process for staff.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student success.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with school policies and national standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience in Science education.
- Experience teaching Science at KS3, KS4, and KS5, including A-level subjects.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for Science education.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience with AQA Science qualifications.
- Experience in teaching BTEC Applied Science.
- Experience working with ECTs or in a supportive training environment.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation strategies.
- Experience in pastoral care and student support.
