The Opportunity:

As Head of Science, you will lead and inspire students through dynamic science education, driving innovation and excellence in the classroom. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about shaping the future of science learning in an international setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the science department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans that meet academic standards.
  • Deliver dynamic, inclusive, and effective science lessons to students.
  • Support student engagement and enrichment activities across the school.
  • Strengthen communication with parents and provide regular progress updates.
  • Integrate digital tools and data-driven strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking in science education.
  • Contribute to the IB curriculum and serve as a Form Tutor.
  • Ensure rigorous assessment, timely feedback, and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
  • Engage in professional learning and contribute to curriculum innovation and quality assurance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience of delivering a UK National Curriculum in the UK or overseas.
  • Hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure for all countries lived in.
  • Compliance with visa requirements for working, including a minimum bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of teaching experience.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a science department or similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with international curricula such as the IB.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate in science education.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
