Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic development of Science provision across the school.
• Raise the quality of Science teaching through effective curriculum planning and strong pedagogical practice.
• Develop and implement Science policies and procedures to support departmental improvement.
• Deliver Science teaching across a range of subjects and settings, including off-site environments.
• Take on additional curriculum responsibilities to support whole-school effectiveness.
• Promote the learning and wellbeing of all students.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare of children at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven leadership experience in a Science department.
• Strong track record in improving student outcomes and academic standards.
• Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
• Qualified teacher with relevant subject expertise.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Preferred

• Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Familiarity with therapeutic and holistic educational approaches.
• Experience in managing and developing teaching staff.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
