Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the Primary National Curriculum in engaging and accessible ways.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular updates and reports.
- Develop and implement individual education and behaviour plans tailored to student needs.
- Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages learning and growth.
- Work closely with Learning Support Assistants and care staff to support student learning.
- Manage challenging behaviour and support students in developing self-regulation skills.
- Collaborate with families, external agencies, and internal teams to ensure consistent support for students.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding standards are upheld at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience teaching students with additional or complex needs.
- Secondary English specialism.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Preferred
- Experience working in a trauma-informed environment.
- Experience with behaviour management and individualised learning plans.
- Knowledge of specialist learning areas such as Animal Husbandry or Horticulture.
