Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the Primary National Curriculum in engaging and accessible ways.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular updates and reports.
  • Develop and implement individual education and behaviour plans tailored to student needs.
  • Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages learning and growth.
  • Work closely with Learning Support Assistants and care staff to support student learning.
  • Manage challenging behaviour and support students in developing self-regulation skills.
  • Collaborate with families, external agencies, and internal teams to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding standards are upheld at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience teaching students with additional or complex needs.
  • Secondary English specialism.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a trauma-informed environment.
  • Experience with behaviour management and individualised learning plans.
  • Knowledge of specialist learning areas such as Animal Husbandry or Horticulture.
