Teaching Assistant role in Trent Acres, supporting pupils with autism and additional needs.

The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and additional needs. You will help deliver engaging lessons, provide one-on-one support, and create a positive, stimulating learning environment. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, adapting to their learning styles
- Prepare and organise learning materials and resources
- Assist in creating hands-on, interactive learning experiences
- Promote the emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of pupils
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent support
- Monitor and record pupil progress and development
- Contribute to the development of individual education plans
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent
- Experience or willingness to support pupils with autism and additional needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Previous experience in education or support roles
- Experience with teaching students with complex needs
- Knowledge of autism and special educational needs
- Experience in preparing and delivering learning resources
- Commitment to continuous professional development
