Summary:

Teaching Assistant role in Trent Acres, supporting pupils with autism and additional needs.

The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and additional needs. You will help deliver engaging lessons, provide one-on-one support, and create a positive, stimulating learning environment. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, adapting to their learning styles
  • Prepare and organise learning materials and resources
  • Assist in creating hands-on, interactive learning experiences
  • Promote the emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent support
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and development
  • Contribute to the development of individual education plans

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent
  • Experience or willingness to support pupils with autism and additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Previous experience in education or support roles
  • Experience with teaching students with complex needs
  • Knowledge of autism and special educational needs
  • Experience in preparing and delivering learning resources
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
