The Opportunity:
As the Head of Upper School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic vision and culture of the Upper School. This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to influence educational standards, support staff development, and contribute to the overall success of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the academic direction and performance of the Upper School
- Collaborate with the Head of School to ensure a cohesive and thriving school community
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance teaching and learning standards
- Support and evaluate the performance of Upper School teaching staff
- Ensure a safe, positive, and healthy learning environment for all students
- Engage with students, parents, and governors to maintain strong relationships and support school objectives
- Monitor and maintain the quality of educational programs across the Upper School
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development among staff
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of academic standards and curriculum development
- Experience in managing and developing teaching staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and stakeholders
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding
Preferred
- Experience in a school leadership role within a similar educational institution
- Background in school governance or policy development
- Experience with international or bilingual education environments
- Strong track record in school improvement and academic achievement
