As Head of Year, you will lead and support students in their academic and personal development, playing a key role in shaping the school's culture. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a year group, ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care and student support.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student behavior, attendance, and engagement.
- Work closely with subject teachers to support student learning and progress.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, promoting their personal development and well-being.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to maintain a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Monitor and report on student performance and progress in line with school targets.
- Organize and lead year group events and activities that enhance student experience.
- Support the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a pastoral leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in English, Business & Economics or Science.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to student welfare and academic success.
- Experience in managing and motivating students and staff.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching and leading within a large, successful school.
- A track record of improving student outcomes and behavior.
- Experience with curriculum development and staff training.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
- A passion for education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
