As Head of Year, you will lead and support students in their academic and personal development, playing a key role in shaping the school's culture. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with a specialism in English, Business & Economics or Science, who is committed to inspiring and motivating students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a year group, ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care and student support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student behavior, attendance, and engagement.
  • Work closely with subject teachers to support student learning and progress.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, promoting their personal development and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to maintain a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Monitor and report on student performance and progress in line with school targets.
  • Organize and lead year group events and activities that enhance student experience.
  • Support the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English, Business & Economics or Science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to student welfare and academic success.
  • Experience in managing and motivating students and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching and leading within a large, successful school.
  • A track record of improving student outcomes and behavior.
  • Experience with curriculum development and staff training.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
