The Opportunity:

We are seeking a PA to Headteacher / Office Manager to provide essential administrative support to the Headteacher and the wider school community. This role is central to maintaining the school’s high standards and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a newly appointed Headteacher and contributing to the school’s mission of excellence and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the Headteacher’s diary, ensuring all meetings and events are effectively scheduled and attended.
  • Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and school leadership team, including correspondence, report writing, and data management.
  • Maintain a high standard of office management, including managing school supplies, coordinating meetings, and ensuring the office environment is welcoming and professional.
  • Support the Headteacher in managing school-wide initiatives, events, and external communications.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with staff, parents, and external partners to ensure the smooth running of the school.
  • Use IT systems efficiently, including Microsoft Office applications and Teams, to support the Headteacher and school operations.
  • Respond flexibly to the demands of a dynamic and often unpredictable workload.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and listening skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in a school or educational setting, with a clear understanding of school operations.
  • Advanced IT skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • A welcoming and professional manner with the ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including term time, INSET days, and additional days in August.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior administrative role, ideally within a school or educational institution.
  • Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and the education sector.
  • Experience with managing high-level meetings and events.
  • A background in supporting senior leadership within an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on Band ‘D’ Pt 20-26.
  • 37 hours per week, term time + INSET days.
