Head's PA and Junior School Secretary role with a focus on administrative and pastoral support.

The Opportunity:

As the Head’s PA and Junior School Secretary, you will provide essential administrative and pastoral support to the Head of Junior School and the Stable Court office. This is a dynamic and impactful role that ensures the smooth operation of the Junior School and supports the needs of students, parents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Head of Junior School’s diary, correspondence, and meeting arrangements
  • Coordinate staff briefings and training logistics
  • Welcome visitors with professionalism and warmth
  • Oversee attendance processes and collaborate with pastoral staff
  • Coordinate academic reporting, parents’ evenings, and MIS updates
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, staff, and the school community
  • Support event planning, trips, and after-school arrangements
  • Maintain records, medical information, and compliance checks
  • Assist with admissions, student induction, and transition to Senior School
  • Produce regular communications to parents, including celebratory newsletters

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong administrative experience, particularly in a school environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Office and database systems
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Discreet and reliable with a commitment to the school’s ethos and values

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior school or pastoral role
  • Familiarity with school management systems
  • Experience with event coordination and logistics
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures
  • Experience with admissions and transition processes
