As a Learning Support Assistant - SEND, you will play a crucial role in helping students with diverse needs reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with differing needs and abilities in a range of learning settings, including small group work and 1:1 sessions.
- Support up to 4 EHCP students within a class, promoting their academic and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an inclusive and supportive environment for students.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to students, fostering independence and confidence.
- Deliver targeted support to students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) through training and development.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to ensure consistent support and progress.
- Participate in professional development and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A positive and flexible approach, along with patience and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
- A commitment to supporting the learning and personal development of students.
- Willingness to train and develop skills in supporting students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
Preferred
- Previous experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education or related fields.
- A graduate background or interest in pursuing a career in teaching.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
