As a Learning Support Assistant - SEND, you will play a crucial role in helping students with diverse needs reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with differing needs and abilities in a range of learning settings, including small group work and 1:1 sessions.
  • Support up to 4 EHCP students within a class, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an inclusive and supportive environment for students.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to students, fostering independence and confidence.
  • Deliver targeted support to students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) through training and development.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to ensure consistent support and progress.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A positive and flexible approach, along with patience and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • A commitment to supporting the learning and personal development of students.
  • Willingness to train and develop skills in supporting students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Preferred

  • Previous experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education or related fields.
  • A graduate background or interest in pursuing a career in teaching.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
