Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a dedicated team to deliver outstanding educational outcomes for students with complex needs.
- Develop and implement a holistic, therapeutic approach that integrates speech and language, occupational, and creative therapies.
- Oversee the management and growth of specialist provision for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Ensure the Post-16 provision continues to deliver vocational excellence and prepare students for adulthood.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and ambitious school environment that supports both students and staff.
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster strong partnerships with families, professionals, and the wider community.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a SEN or mainstream educational setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and inclusive education practices.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a multi-faceted provision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a school with therapeutic and SEMH provision.
- Background in trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
- Experience in post-16 education and vocational training.
- Familiarity with innovative curriculum design and delivery.
- Strong track record in driving continuous improvement and staff development.
