Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team to deliver outstanding educational outcomes for students with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement a holistic, therapeutic approach that integrates speech and language, occupational, and creative therapies.
  • Oversee the management and growth of specialist provision for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Ensure the Post-16 provision continues to deliver vocational excellence and prepare students for adulthood.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and ambitious school environment that supports both students and staff.
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster strong partnerships with families, professionals, and the wider community.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a SEN or mainstream educational setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and inclusive education practices.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a multi-faceted provision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a school with therapeutic and SEMH provision.
  • Background in trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
  • Experience in post-16 education and vocational training.
  • Familiarity with innovative curriculum design and delivery.
  • Strong track record in driving continuous improvement and staff development.
