The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that motivate and challenge students across all ability levels.
- Implement a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum that supports student progress and development.
- Monitor and support student progress as a tutor and provide targeted interventions where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to raise standards of achievement and promote best practices in teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the development of the history curriculum and ensure it reflects current pedagogical approaches.
- Encourage a learning culture that promotes student independence and academic growth.
- Support the school’s mission to provide a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised degree (or equivalent) with a good classification in a relevant subject and qualified teacher status (QTS).
- Proven experience as a classroom practitioner with a strong track record in teaching history.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A deep understanding of current curriculum and pedagogical developments in history education.
- Strong organisational skills to manage workload and deliver effective teaching and learning.
- A genuine passion for teaching history and a commitment to student success.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and leading curriculum initiatives.
- Experience with teaching English as a second language or working in diverse educational settings.
- Leadership or mentoring experience within a school setting.
- Experience with student wellbeing and pastoral care.
