Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the drama department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging drama curriculum.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance cross-curricular links.
  • Promote student participation in drama-related co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Represent the department in school meetings and events.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of drama facilities and resources.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school drama department.
  • Strong subject knowledge in drama and theatre studies.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department with a large student cohort.
  • Familiarity with drama in the context of a comprehensive school.
  • Experience with Sixth Form drama programs.
