The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health and Social Care Teacher to inspire and support students aged 16-19 in their learning journey. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them to reach their full potential and prepare for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Health and Social Care to students aged 16-19.
  • Plan and implement engaging lessons that challenge and support students to achieve their best.
  • Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and share best practices.
  • Support students in their personal and academic development, promoting resilience and confidence.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and integrate relevant content into the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care, extracurricular activities, and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience of teaching students aged 16-19, ideally in a sixth form setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with A Level or vocational qualifications in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience of working with diverse student groups and supporting students from under-represented backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of character education and whole-person development.
  • Experience with professional development and mentoring.
