Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured PE lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN and additional barriers to learning
  • Set high expectations that motivate and challenge pupils to achieve their best
  • Build strong and positive relationships with pupils to support their social, emotional, and physical development
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and perseverance through physical activity
  • Contribute positively to the ethos and wider life of the school
  • Promote the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of all pupils
  • Support enrichment opportunities and student development initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in a relevant subject area
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience or interest in working with SEN students, alternative provision or post-16 learners
  • Commitment to safeguarding and equality

Preferred

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience in teaching physical education in a special needs or alternative provision setting
  • Training or experience in safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
