The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers by planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals, groups, or classes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, recording and reporting achievements regularly.
  • Work closely with students in the Horizons Resource Provision, providing tailored support for those with communication and interaction needs.
  • Implement national and foundation stage curriculum strategies effectively.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of learning programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant status or working towards this (Level 4).
  • Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications or willingness to work towards them.
  • Experience in implementing national and foundation stage curriculum and relevant learning strategies.
  • Good understanding of child development and learning processes.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with communication and interaction challenges.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
