Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective PE lessons that promote physical health, teamwork, and personal development.
  • Develop and lead a wide range of extra-curricular sports activities and events.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their personal best in physical education and beyond.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience and raise the profile of PE within the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Promote the core values of the school and the Co-operative Group through daily practice and leadership.
  • Contribute to the school’s professional development culture by sharing best practices and supporting staff growth.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students during PE and sporting activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant PE experience.
  • Strong knowledge of physical education and sports curriculum.
  • Proven ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to the values of the Co-operative Group and the school’s mission.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular sports programs.
  • Background in coaching or sports leadership.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and supporting diverse student needs.
  • Familiarity with the Co-op Academies Trust and its values.
