The Opportunity:
As a Primary Year Group Leader, you will lead a team of teachers and teaching assistants, shaping the educational experience for a year group. This is a leadership role that combines teaching, curriculum planning, and staff development, offering the chance to make a real impact on student learning and school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a year group, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement an engaging and effective learning journey for students.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to drive excellence in curriculum planning and enrichment.
- Support and develop teachers and teaching assistants through coaching, appraisal, and professional growth.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Organise and lead events, trips, and extracurricular activities that enhance the student experience.
- Build strong, constructive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong educational background.
- Proven experience in classroom teaching and leadership.
- Experience in staff development, line management, and leading initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of current educational developments and assessment practices.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities, and student wellbeing.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum leadership or leading a key initiative.
- Familiarity with the diamond model of teaching or similar approaches.
- Experience in pastoral care and behaviour management.
- Strong track record in driving student achievement and engagement.
