The Opportunity:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting curriculum delivery and leading a team of teaching assistants. This position is ideal for an experienced professional looking to advance their career while making a meaningful impact on student learning and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support curriculum delivery across the Academy by working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and mentors.
- Lead and develop a team of teaching assistants and mentors.
- Encourage pupils to become independent learners and provide appropriate support for those with special educational needs.
- Deliver targeted support to individuals and small groups of students.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Work closely with teachers to ensure effective implementation of the curriculum.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of inclusive learning strategies.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Demonstrable levels of numeracy and literacy to GCSE grade A–C.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g., A Levels, NVQ, Diploma).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with pupils in a school setting.
- Experience working with children who have special educational needs and disabilities.
- Experience in teaching individuals and small groups.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or mentoring teaching assistants.
- Knowledge of inclusive learning strategies and practices.
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
