The Opportunity:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting curriculum delivery and leading a team of teaching assistants. This position is ideal for an experienced professional looking to advance their career while making a meaningful impact on student learning and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support curriculum delivery across the Academy by working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and mentors.
  • Lead and develop a team of teaching assistants and mentors.
  • Encourage pupils to become independent learners and provide appropriate support for those with special educational needs.
  • Deliver targeted support to individuals and small groups of students.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure effective implementation of the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of inclusive learning strategies.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Demonstrable levels of numeracy and literacy to GCSE grade A–C.
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g., A Levels, NVQ, Diploma).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with pupils in a school setting.
  • Experience working with children who have special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Experience in teaching individuals and small groups.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or mentoring teaching assistants.
  • Knowledge of inclusive learning strategies and practices.
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
