The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team at a school that delivers a trauma-informed model of education. As a Qualified Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils aged 5-16 with additional needs, ensuring they receive a high-quality, inclusive education in a calm and emotionally safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning across a broad curriculum tailored to pupils’ developmental, emotional, and academic needs.
  • Support pupils in developing literacy, numeracy, communication, independence, and life skills through creative and experiential learning.
  • Create a classroom environment that is emotionally safe, predictable, and relational, grounded in trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice.
  • Adapt curriculum delivery to meet a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, including in mixed-age and mixed-ability groups.
  • Assess and track pupil progress using formative and summative methods, ensuring all pupils make progress within the school’s curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, pastoral staff, teaching assistants, and external professionals to support pupil well-being and learning.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils in line with statutory guidance and school policies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including trauma-informed education, SEND, and inclusive practice training.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience working with pupils with additional needs.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment-aware approaches.
  • Experience in behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within a therapeutic or trauma-informed setting.
  • Subject specialisms in Maths, English, or Science for secondary provision.
  • Experience with implementing EHCP outcomes and personalised learning plans.
  • Background in SEND and inclusive education.
