Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and deputise the teacher in their absence across all areas of school life
  • Assist with pupil welfare, safeguarding, and promoting positive learning outcomes
  • Support teaching and learning through individual and group sessions
  • Monitor and record student progress in line with school objectives
  • Support and mentor other teaching assistants and contribute to their professional development
  • Adapt teaching and communication methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Identify and manage emotional and behavioural challenges effectively
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support student development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification
  • GCSE in Maths and English Language (Grade 4 or equivalent)
  • Experience in an educational setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience working with pupils with ASD and complex communication needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support others

Preferred

  • Experience working in an ASD or SLD environment
  • Experience in a multi-cultural, inclusive setting
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
  • Strong IT skills
  • Experience with play-based learning approaches
