Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom, assisting with learning and personal development.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver individualized education plans.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with complex needs.
- Assist in managing behavior and promoting positive learning environments.
- Help with the organization and delivery of activities across the curriculum.
- Support students during breaks, meals, and other school activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
- Collaborate with therapists and support teams to ensure holistic student care.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teachers and senior staff.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred
- Experience working in a school or similar educational setting.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with communication systems such as PECS or Makaton.
- Understanding of behavior management strategies.
- First aid or emergency care training.
