Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in the classroom, assisting with learning and personal development.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver individualized education plans.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with complex needs.
  • Assist in managing behavior and promoting positive learning environments.
  • Help with the organization and delivery of activities across the curriculum.
  • Support students during breaks, meals, and other school activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
  • Collaborate with therapists and support teams to ensure holistic student care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teachers and senior staff.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or similar educational setting.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience with communication systems such as PECS or Makaton.
  • Understanding of behavior management strategies.
  • First aid or emergency care training.
