The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Teacher - SEMH Support, you will play a crucial role in delivering person-centred learning to students with SEMH needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver person-centred learning tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Monitor and review student progress, including social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with a multi-professional team to create therapeutic learning environments.
  • Support the development of a positive and inclusive school community.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of a differentiated curriculum aligned with national standards and EHCP outcomes.
  • Promote effective communication and oracy skills as a key component of student development.
  • Participate in outdoor learning and other experiential activities that support student engagement and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in SEMH support or special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred and therapeutic approaches in education.
  • Experience in designing and delivering differentiated curricula.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive education practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.
  • Background in Science or ICT teaching, though other subject specialisms are welcome.
  • Familiarity with the Skills Builder Framework and EHCP outcomes.
  • Experience in outdoor learning or experiential education settings.
