Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering educational experiences tailored to students with autism and learning difficulties.
  • Assist with positive behaviour management and implement individualised approaches to student support.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the overall development and improvement of the school’s provision and services.
  • Work collaboratively with education staff and other professionals to meet student needs.
  • Provide assistance with daily classroom activities and general student care.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teaching staff and parents.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good standard of English, Maths, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive way.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and individualised support.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an educational setting, particularly with students with autism.
  • Experience in a multi-cultural and inclusive environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • Proficiency in ICT and basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
