The Opportunity:

A Learning Support Assistant is needed to provide essential support to students in a dynamic and inclusive school setting. This role plays a key part in helping students achieve their full potential through tailored assistance in whole class, small group, and one-to-one settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning needs across whole class, small group, and one-to-one settings.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement individualised learning plans.
  • Provide emotional and academic support to students in a nurturing environment.
  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of learning activities.
  • Collaborate with other support staff and senior leadership to ensure consistent support.
  • Monitor and report on student progress regularly.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development sessions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and staff.

Preferred

  • NVQ qualifications or subject specialism knowledge.
  • Experience in learning support or special educational needs.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices.
  • Knowledge of child development and behaviour management.
