The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join our dynamic Humanities faculty. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons at KS3-5, ensuring engaging and challenging content for all students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote critical thinking and a deep understanding of History.
  • Support students in achieving the highest academic standards through personalized learning and assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities faculty to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Engage in professional development and continue to improve teaching practice.
  • Promote inclusivity and ensure all students feel valued and supported in the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at KS3-5.
  • Strong commitment to student achievement and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching RE at KS3.
  • Experience working with ECTs or in a multi-academy trust.
  • Familiarity with the LaSWAP post-16 consortium.
  • Demonstrated success in developing innovative teaching methods.
