Head of Business Studies role at a leading 11-19 comprehensive school. Lead and teach Business Studies at KS4 and KS5.

The Opportunity:
As the Head of Business Studies, you will lead the department and deliver high-quality teaching to students aged 14-19. You will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and supporting the school’s mission to provide an outstanding education through innovative and inclusive teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business Studies department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across KS4 and KS5, including GCSE and BTEC qualifications
- Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the school’s commitment to creativity and inclusion
- Support the professional development of departmental staff
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and intervention where needed
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
- Promote the school’s values and ethos through teaching and pastoral care
- Participate in the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular and community engagement activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Business Studies
- Excellent knowledge of GCSE Business Studies and Pearson BTEC National Diploma in Business
- Proven experience teaching students aged 14-19
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Commitment to inclusive and creative teaching practices
- Ability to deliver high-quality lessons and support student achievement
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team
- Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment strategies
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Strong record of professional development and continuous improvement
