The Opportunity:
The Science Teacher - Additional Resource Provision will deliver high-quality Science teaching to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, supporting their academic and personal growth. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who wants to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Science lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
- Provide targeted small-group interventions to support student learning and progress.
- Supervise and lead therapeutic or enrichment activities to enhance student wellbeing.
- Support students during lunchtimes and other non-teaching activities.
- Collaborate with the ARP team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with students transitioning from the ARP to the main school.
- Participate in professional development opportunities within the school and ARP team.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a bespoke curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Science teacher with relevant experience.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusive and anti-racist education.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage a varied range of responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering small-group interventions or therapeutic activities.
- Background in special educational needs or pastoral care.
- Experience with curriculum development for diverse student groups.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and creative learning approaches.
