The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate History Teacher to join a successful and cohesive department. This role offers the chance to inspire students and contribute to a knowledge-rich curriculum. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering outstanding academic results and fostering a love of learning in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History to students at all key stages with a focus on delivering an engaging and knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that reflect Rosenshine’s principles of instruction and promote student progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the History department to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Support the school’s Catholic ethos and contribute to the spiritual and personal development of students.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, ensuring their academic and personal growth.
  • Participate in a comprehensive CPD programme to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to History.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

Preferred

  • Experience with Rosenshine’s principles of instruction.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a department.
  • Experience in GCSE and A Level teaching.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Experience in professional development and training of other teachers.
