The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach AQA A level History, including The Cold War, The Tudors, and the Historical Investigation on Civil Rights in the US.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students, using a variety of teaching and learning strategies.
- Monitor and track student progress to ensure each learner fulfils their potential.
- Contribute to the development of teaching resources and schemes of work.
- Participate in departmental planning and contribute to the overall success of the History & Politics Department.
- Support the school’s extra-curricular programme through trips, events, and guest speaker engagements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to staff training and development activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in History at A level.
- Strong subject knowledge in the topics covered by the AQA A level History specification.
- Commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience in developing and delivering engaging lessons.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching the Cold War, Tudors, and Civil Rights in the US topics.
- Experience with extra-curricular activities and student engagement.
- Recent teacher or ECT (Early Career Teacher) with enthusiasm and a passion for education.
- Familiarity with ILT (Information and Learning Technology) and online teaching platforms.
