The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach AQA A level History, including The Cold War, The Tudors, and the Historical Investigation on Civil Rights in the US.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students, using a variety of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Monitor and track student progress to ensure each learner fulfils their potential.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching resources and schemes of work.
  • Participate in departmental planning and contribute to the overall success of the History & Politics Department.
  • Support the school’s extra-curricular programme through trips, events, and guest speaker engagements.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to staff training and development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in History at A level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in the topics covered by the AQA A level History specification.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience in developing and delivering engaging lessons.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching the Cold War, Tudors, and Civil Rights in the US topics.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities and student engagement.
  • Recent teacher or ECT (Early Career Teacher) with enthusiasm and a passion for education.
  • Familiarity with ILT (Information and Learning Technology) and online teaching platforms.
