The Opportunity:
As a History Teacher with Humanities, you will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that inspire students aged 11-18. You will contribute to curriculum development and help foster critical thinking and a deep understanding of historical events and humanities topics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Contribute to the development and review of the Humanities curriculum.
- Foster critical thinking and a deep understanding of historical events and humanities topics.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Social Sciences department.
- Support the personal and academic development of students through effective teaching and pastoral care.
- Use IT tools effectively to enhance classroom teaching and learning.
- Promote a culture of respect, integrity, inclusivity, and curiosity among students.
- Participate in professional development and training initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong interest in History and Humanities subjects.
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage secondary school students effectively.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team within the Social Sciences department.
- Basic IT skills relevant to classroom teaching.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching History at the secondary level.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in pastoral care or student support.
- Experience with inclusive education and diversity initiatives.
