Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging History lessons that inspire student interest and achievement.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and aligns with school values.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, contribute to departmental planning, and enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Support students’ personal and academic growth through pastoral care, mentorship, and extra-curricular involvement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate innovative teaching methods and resources.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect, kindness, and responsibility.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the continued improvement of the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
