Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality History lessons that are engaging, challenging, and aligned with the school’s curriculum and values.
- Plan and implement a coherent and progressive curriculum that develops students’ knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
- Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and enrichment opportunities.
- Stay up to date with developments in the History subject and incorporate relevant resources and teaching methods.
- Contribute to the development of the school’s ethos and values through positive role modeling and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in History.
- Experience of teaching History at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
- Commitment to student development and academic excellence.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching History at Key Stage 5.
- Experience of working in a school with a strong ethos and values-based approach.
- Experience of delivering cross-curricular or enterprise-related projects.
- Experience of working with diverse student groups and supporting student well-being.
