Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons that are engaging, challenging, and aligned with the school’s curriculum and values.
  • Plan and implement a coherent and progressive curriculum that develops students’ knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and enrichment opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the History subject and incorporate relevant resources and teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s ethos and values through positive role modeling and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in History.
  • Experience of teaching History at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to student development and academic excellence.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching History at Key Stage 5.
  • Experience of working in a school with a strong ethos and values-based approach.
  • Experience of delivering cross-curricular or enterprise-related projects.
  • Experience of working with diverse student groups and supporting student well-being.
