English Teacher position available at a school in Dudley, West Midlands.

The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students. You will deliver high-quality, adaptive teaching that supports each learner in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum and individual pupil targets.
  • Create practical, contextual, and inspiring learning opportunities that promote independence and preparation for adulthood.
  • Organise and enhance the learning environment to ensure resources support high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Lead and support your class team, modelling excellent practice and professional development.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and maintain strong, professional communication with parents and carers.
  • Use assessment tools effectively to track, record, and celebrate pupil progress.
  • Foster a love of learning and ensure pupils are appropriately challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Share responsibility for pupil wellbeing, safety, and behaviour management in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • PGCE / QTS or equivalent.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience working with SEMH pupils, including those who display challenging behaviours.
  • Strong adaptive teaching skills with the ability to tailor learning to diverse needs.
  • A commitment to inclusive, pupil-centred education.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching autistic pupils.
  • Leadership or team management experience.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual pupil targets.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic and inclusive educational approaches.
