Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Plan and develop innovative and interactive Science curricula that align with national standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching methods.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Support the development of students’ scientific skills and curiosity through practical and theoretical learning.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and integrate new resources and technologies into teaching.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or a related field.
  • Full teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in Science teaching, ideally at a secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within an academy or multi-academy trust setting.
  • Experience with KS3, KS4, and KS5 Science curricula.
  • Familiarity with assessment and marking systems.
  • Ability to develop and lead extracurricular Science activities or clubs.
  • Experience with using digital tools and resources in Science education.
