The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Hospitality and Catering Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development while working in a supportive and high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality hospitality and catering lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that supports student progress and meets key performance targets.
  • Work collaboratively with the technology team to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Participate in instructional coaching and lesson observations to continuously improve teaching methods.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s warm/strict approach to behaviour and learning.
  • Support the development of a knowledge-based, academic curriculum with clear pedagogical strategies.
  • Contribute to the marking policy and assessment cycle to ensure effective student progress.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students to foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in hospitality and catering.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful outcomes at Key Stage 4.
  • Commitment to raising student achievement and improving life chances.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and take on collaborative responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with instructional coaching and lesson observations.
  • Familiarity with bookletised curriculum approaches and academic content development.
  • Experience with visualisers and high-level questioning techniques.
  • Background in developing and implementing behaviour policies and warm/strict principles.
  • Experience in managing workload effectively through marking and assessment strategies.
