The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Hospitality and Catering Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development while working in a supportive and high-achieving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality hospitality and catering lessons that inspire and engage students.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that supports student progress and meets key performance targets.
- Work collaboratively with the technology team to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Participate in instructional coaching and lesson observations to continuously improve teaching methods.
- Uphold and promote the school’s warm/strict approach to behaviour and learning.
- Support the development of a knowledge-based, academic curriculum with clear pedagogical strategies.
- Contribute to the marking policy and assessment cycle to ensure effective student progress.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students to foster a positive learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in hospitality and catering.
- Proven track record of delivering successful outcomes at Key Stage 4.
- Commitment to raising student achievement and improving life chances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and take on collaborative responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience with instructional coaching and lesson observations.
- Familiarity with bookletised curriculum approaches and academic content development.
- Experience with visualisers and high-level questioning techniques.
- Background in developing and implementing behaviour policies and warm/strict principles.
- Experience in managing workload effectively through marking and assessment strategies.
