The Opportunity:

As the HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school’s workforce and ensuring the recruitment, motivation, and retention of high-quality staff. This is a dynamic and autonomous role, offering the opportunity to influence the school’s HR strategy and operations across a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and staff development.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the school’s strategic objectives.
  • Maintain the Single Central Register and ensure compliance with employment law and best practices.
  • Coordinate meetings with senior leadership to discuss staffing and HR-related matters.
  • Support the Bursar and Bursary Team in managing staff-related issues and contractual arrangements.
  • Ensure the smooth administration of HR processes, including payroll and performance management.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that supports staff well-being and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on HR-related policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in HR management, with a strong understanding of employment law.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Experience in managing a team and maintaining high standards of HR administration.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector, particularly in a school environment.
  • Familiarity with the UK education system and school operations.
  • Experience in managing a diverse workforce and supporting staff development.
  • Knowledge of HR software and IT systems.
